Power BI

Power BI reports people check, and trust

We build Power BI reports and the semantic models behind them, so the numbers match across teams and the dashboards answer the questions people actually ask.

About Power BI

What it is

Power BI is Microsoft’s reporting and analytics service. It connects to Dynamics 365, Dataverse, SQL databases, spreadsheets and many other sources, and shares reports securely through the Power BI service, Teams, or embedded in other apps.

A good fit when

  • Different reports show different numbers for the same thing
  • Monthly reporting means exporting to spreadsheets
  • Leaders want a current view without asking for it
  • Partners or customers need to see their own data
What we do

How we work with Power BI

Executive and operational reporting

Dashboards for leaders and working reports for teams, designed with them rather than for them.

Semantic models

Shared models with tested measures, so a case or an applicant means the same thing in every report.

Security

Row-level security so people see only the data they should, using your Entra ID groups.

Embedding

Reports inside Dynamics 365, Power Pages portals or custom applications.

Questions

Common questions about Power BI

Can Power BI report on Dynamics 365?

Yes. It can connect to Dataverse directly, or through Microsoft Fabric when data needs combining with other systems or volumes are large.

Can people outside our organisation see reports?

Yes, through Power BI embedded in a portal or application, with security controlling what each person sees. Licensing differs from internal sharing, so we plan it early.

Why do our reports show different numbers?

Usually because each report defines its own measures. A shared semantic model fixes that at the source.
