About Microsoft Foundry

What it is

Microsoft Foundry, formerly Azure AI Foundry, is Microsoft’s platform for building AI applications and agents on Azure. It brings model choice, agent tooling, search over your own content, evaluation and safety controls together, inside your own Azure subscription.

A good fit when

  • A Copilot Studio agent cannot meet your security, integration or user interface needs
  • You want AI inside a custom application or portal
  • Answers must cite their sources
  • You need control over which model is used and where it runs
What we do

How we work with Microsoft Foundry

Answers from your content

Search and answer over policies, knowledge bases and records with Azure AI Search, with the source shown for every answer.

Agents that do work

Agents that call your APIs and Dataverse to look up, classify or draft, with a person approving anything that matters.

Evaluation

Test sets and automated evaluations for accuracy and groundedness, run before release and after every change.

Safety and operations

Content filtering, access control, logging and cost monitoring in your own Azure subscription.

Questions

Common questions about Microsoft Foundry

Where is our data processed?

Foundry runs in your Azure subscription. Model availability differs by region, so we check which models are available in Australian regions before designing around them.

Which models can we use?

Foundry offers OpenAI models alongside models from other providers. We choose based on the task, the cost and where the model can run.

How do you stop an AI app giving wrong answers?

No system is perfect, so we ground answers in your content, show sources, test against real questions before release, and keep a person in the loop for decisions that matter.
